Questions for 2/8

1. If you could choose a character from Pride and Prejudice that you can most identify with, who would it be and why?

2. Is Mr. Bingley even worthy of Jane, considering his dependence on Mr. Darcy's opinion?

  1. I most related to Jane. She's restrained in showing how she feels about Bingley. She tries to see the best in people and can't talk badly about them. My identification with her made me suspect that she isn't entirely as peaceful as she seems about Bingley's abandonment. I'd more suspect that she is trying to convince everyone else that she is ok. My suspicion carried over to the end of the book, when Jane says that she is absolutely fine now that she and Bingley can talk without strain. Maybe I've read too much of myself into Jane, but I really want to know what is going on in her head throughout the story.

  2. I really like Jane too, she is probably my favorite in the novel. Next to Mr. Collins of course, just kidding.
