Mr. Collins and Service

In writing the questions for the day I began thinking about the similarities between Mr. Collins and his prideful shows of humility and the servants of Gosford Park.

There are moments in the movie where the servants are very touchy about each person's place in the house, and among the visiting servants. The Butler, head of the servants sat at the head of the table at the servant's meal and called down another servant for sitting in a place that elevated "her lady" over another servant's benefactor, re-organizing the table based around the status of the people they serve.

Collins seems to want that sort of structure everywhere else, bragging about and mentioning Lady Catherine de Bourghe at every turn as though it would get him favor. Thoughts anyone?
