Questions for 2/13

1. In a time when women were still considered poor writers as a whole, how did Fanny Fern manage to gain the attention of people like Nathaniel Hawthorne? What made her different from the other women writers?

2. I love Fern's fearless attitude toward criticism and feminism. Was she a huge influence to women of her time? How is she still influencing writers and women today?
