do you explain Darcy’s change, if at all, as the novel progresses? Was he simply hiding his sympathetic and
caring nature at the beginning of the novel, or did Elizabeth actually bring
about a change in him?
2. Do
you view this text as revolutionary for its time and the issues that it deals
with? Clearly a family’s socioeconomic
status was a major deal at the time of this novel’s publication; therefore, do
you feel Austen went on a limb, so to speak, when deciding to write about a
couple that overcame social boundaries?
